Ljubljana Clinical Neurophysiology Symposium 2024: Active Contribution highlighting new approaches being developed within HybridNeuro Project
The Ljubljana Clinical Neurophysiology Symposium 2024, hosted by the Slovenian Society of Clinical Neurophysiology and the University Medical Centre Ljubljana, concluded successfully at Cankarjev Dom on 6th - 7th September 2024, drawing specialists from around the globe. The event highlighted advances in botulinum toxin treatments and neurophysiological research, with notable contributions from local and international experts.
Aleš Holobar gave a talk on "HDEMG Use in neuromuscular disorders", highlighting the innovative use of high-density electromyography (HDEMG) in their treatment & potential new routes towards their diagnosis. By mapping muscle activation patterns with an unprecedented combination of a number of tracked neural codes and their granularity, the HDEMG analysis holds promise for optimising botulinum toxin injections, making treatment more accurate and efficient.
This presentation showcased the broader implications of the HybridNeuro Hub initiative within the HybridNeuro project, which seeks to bridge clinical neurophysiology with advanced neuroengineering solutions, highlighting the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration and innovation in improving patient outcomes.
The symposium, complemented by workshops on ultrasound-guided botulinum toxin injections, provided an engaging platform for exchanging knowledge on the latest therapeutic approaches.
